HCVYS appoints new Chief Executive Officer.

Jacqui DixonHampshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services has appointed Jacqui Dixon as its new Chief Executive Officer. She will take over when Cedric Riley leaves at the end of June 2007.

Jacqui, a solicitor by training, has extensive experience of working with young people. She's been a member of GirlguidingUK since she was eight and is currently the County Commissioner for Girlguiding Hampshire East. Her achievements include managing the Guides finances at Region level and devising GirlguidingUK's Leadership Qualification.

Jacqui joins the organisation at a challenging time - there are unprecedented changes taking place in the way children's and young people's services are planned and delivered.

Jacqui says "My main focus will be on helping members to understand the changing structure around young people's services. I'll also be working very hard to make sure that everyone understands the huge contribution made by voluntary youth organisations to communities across Hampshire, Portsmouth and Southampton."

HCVYS Chairman Andrew Kent says "I'm very please that we've been able to recruit someone of Jacqui's experience to guide HCVYS through the next stage of development."
