Apprenticeships in Youth work

Apprenticeships in Youth work - a free focus group event sharing experience and review of the youth work apprenticeship programme in England, 22nd May 2007 11.00 - 3.30pm at The National Youth Agency, Leicester

This is a joint event from the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services and the National Youth Agency, which will be of interest to existing training providers delivering the youth work apprenticeship programme, employers who recruit apprentices and national bodies such as the DfES, LLUK and LSC.

The aim of the event is to review and share experience with those involved in the delivery and take up of the youth work apprenticeship programme. It is hoped at the end of the event an action plan will be created, which will lead to improvements in the widening and take-up of the apprenticeship by young people and employers.

The youth work apprenticeship is another option for individuals to enter the youth sector workforce and a crucial way of encouraging young people to get involved in this increasingly popular career area.
